Nancy Boyda

There was a very interesting piece in The New York Times on December 4, stating that moderate to conservative Democrats were not thrilled with the prospect of Hillary Clinton being the Democratic nominee for president. The piece highlighted Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Boyda as a candidate who needs the support of Republicans in order to be re-elected since her district, which covers Topeka and Manhattan, is rather conservative. Although Kathleen Sebelius is popular even among conservatives, Hillary is someone who is too ultra-liberal, polarizing and cannot be trusted. Boyda is working very hard to sell herself as a different kind of Democratic candidate (the anti-Hillary) and according to the article, her hard work is paying off. She will have a tough campaign, especially if she runs against the more moderate Republican Lynn Jenkins (hopefully she can whoop ultra-conservative Jim Ryun if he wins the primary).
